Sankhu is a historical city located 17 kilometers northeast to Kathmandu city. Kathmandu. Sankhu was amongst the cities in Nepal which was totaled by the 2015 earthquake. The city still has its historical values and is inhabited by the indigenous community of Newari people. On the other hand, Sankhu is religiously important city for the followers of Hinduism and Buddhism.
